FANS were quick to try and predict Deontay Wilder's excuses after his shock defeat to Joseph Parker

The Bronze Bomber produced a lacklustre display as he was unanimously beaten by Parker in Saudi Arabia and blew a £100m superfight against Anthony Joshua.

The American star made a grand entrance for the bout, donning a sparkling black robe and crown for his walk to the ring, despite previously blaming a similar outfit for his 2020 loss to Tyson Fury.

Fans were quick to joke that Wilder would “blame it again” if he suffered a loss.

One boxing fan joked upon seeing it: “This better be the lightweight version!!!”

Another trolled: “He's about to blame his L on it again watch.”

While a fellow viewer said: “Oh no his legs will be gone by the time he gets to the ring.”

He went on to barely lay a glove on Parker throughout the entire fight except for the final one, with the judges scoring it 118-111, 118-110 and 120-108.

And afterwards, more boxing fans quickly took to social media to speculate on what Wilder's excuses would be.

One said: “So what’s the excuses Wilder fans boys was the gloves tampered with, water spiked, costume heavy, referee drunk, diss loyal trainer?”

Another wrote: “What excuse will Deontay Wilder come up with this time? His costume or Joseph Parker's gloves or the water in Saudi Arabia?”

A fellow fan joked: “I can’t wait to hear Wilder’s excuse after this fight. Costume, gloves, what…….?”

While a fellow fan echoed those thoughts by saying: “What is Wilder's excuse going to be after this fight? Maybe he blames the costume again.”

As another said: “Is it too heavy? Don’t want any excuses like against Fury in the rematch.”

Wilder blamed his seventh-round defeat to Fury in 2020 on the mask, crown and body armour he wore which he claimed was too heavy as he made his way to the ring.

The Black History Month costume backfired horribly as the Bronze Bomber struggled to balance during the defeat.

After being widely mocked for that, he was a lot more humble this time around after his loss to Parker.

He said afterwards: “I did [think he did enough to win] but my timing was off a little bit.

“He did a great job in avoiding a lot of my punches. We make no excuses, it was a good fight and we move onto the next thing.”
