IF you're a gay guy, chancers are you've heard of Grindr.
It's the most popular dating app among, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people.
And it's a lot more forward than the likes of Tinder.

What is Grindr?
Grindr is gay dating app which first burst onto the scene in 2008.

It's location based, so will show you other people close by.
The app has gained a reputation as more of a hook-up app, though its credited with creating lasting romances too.
Grindr is made up of a grid of profiles, which show you images as well as the person's description.
You can also list sexual preferences.
It's possible to start messaging anyone you like that appears on the app - but of course, the recipient isn't obliged to respond.
You're allowed to send private photos, voice messages and even your live location if you want.
How much does Grindr cost?
Grindr is free to use but it does have premium paid-for extras.
Grindr XTRA shows you up to 600 profiles in the grid and lets you chat with users globally with Explore.
You can store phrases in the chat to save time.
And there's useful read receipts too, so you can tell if someone is ignoring you.

It also allows you to send five expiring photos per day.
Grindr XTRA costs between £4 and £5 per month.
There's also Grindr Unlimited.
This offers even more, like the ability to see who has looked at your profile and unsend messages or photos.
Grindr Unlimited will cost you £31.99 a month.
Is the Grindr app safe?
Questions have been raised about how safe Grindr is due anonymity.
While anonymity is good for people who may not be safe to reveal their sexuality, it means fake accounts can easily be set-up too.
Catfishing and so-called "picture collectors" are rife.
The app has also been used by notorious serial killer Stephen Port and murderer Luka Magnotta.
Can you look someone up on Grindr?
It's not possible to simply search a person's name to find them on Grindr.
The app is entirely based on location.
You can change location to another area if you know someone to be around there and message them that way, but they'll need to be online at the same time.
