Poundland is recalling the product due to a serious safety risk and potential injury due to the small balls at the end of the sticks detaching.
Once detached, the balls may be placed in the mouth and swallowed, presenting a choking hazard for young children.
IKEA, Amazon and TK Maxx urgently recall products due to safety fearsCustomers who purchased the xylophone with barcode number 5059334963159 to return it to the store they bought it from.
Shoppers with an affected toy can claim a full refund - there’s no need to provide proof of purchase.
A spokesperson for Poundland said: "We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
"However, the safety and confidence of our consumers and the quality of our products is at the heart of everything we do."
Affected customers can call the customer care line on 0333 234 1877 or email customer.relations@poundland.co.uk.
What are my rights to a refund?
If you're returning a recalled product, your rights to get a refund depends on whether the fault makes the product unsafe.
Sometimes the business will repair the product, for example by fitting a new part. But this should be done for you.
If a fault makes a product unsafe to use — and it's difficult to correct the fault — the Consumer Guarantees Act says you might have the right to reject the product and claim a replacement or a refund.
You can read more about your rights concerning a recalled product in our guide.
