Keefe D filed a motion to be released on bail before his court hearing on January 2.

The gangster and confessed criminal was arrested and charged with allegedly providing the weapon in the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur. He is currently going through the hearing process for the allegations and his attorneys argue that he should be allowed out on bail. According to the defense, Keefe D is not a danger to the public nor is he a flight risk, but the prosecutors are fighting back hard against the move.

They're concerned that his release could pose a threat to the witnesses involved in the case. However, the only direct witness to the event that is still alive, Suge Night, is actively behind bars due to an unrelated incident.

Prosecutors, however, claim that Keefe's son admitted there is a "green light" order to kill potential witnesses. In their motion, they insist that Keefe's son told him this during a recorded jail phone call. Las Vegas Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGacomo is a party in that authorization.

The gangster's attorney Robert Arroyo insisted that he did not make any threats. He told The Sun: "We are currently reviewing the allegations made by the State and intend to file a written response. However, after our initial review of the phone call in question, we fail to see when any of the witnesses were mentioned, let alone threatened. Mr. Davis most certainly did not say anything about a green light or threaten any witnesses during the phone call."

A police insider additionally told The Sun that Keefe's current tactics are "desperate." They pointed out that Keefe has been open about his involvement in Tupac's murder in both public claims and his memoir.

"The feeling was always that he will say anything to get home and escape justice," the police source said. Police were monitoring Keefe's activity in the time leading up to his arrest.

The source added: "During the initial police probe on Keefe, detectives pulled several videos and files where he made threats to high-profile names in the Compton community and even celebrities. He boasted that he still had connections to his old gangster lifestyle. His movements were secretly monitored during the summer, before being charged. It appears he is throwing anything out there to get himself out of custody, hoping that the judge will buy it.”
