Mariah Carey risked a possible wardrobe malfunction in a curve-hugging dress while stepping out to the the third annual Recording Academy Honors.
The chart-topping star attended the glittering bash in Los Angeles leaving little to the imagination in a golden corseted gown. The attire put her ample cleavage on display. She also wore an on-trend sheer skirt that barely covered her crotch, putting her at great risk for wardrobe malfunction. Mariah, 54, posed confidently for photographers in the ensemble which featured a layered organza booty bustle.
She wore her honey-coloured hair down in silky voluminous waves and complimented her outfit with a nude-toned makeup look. Mariah added an array of sparkling diamond jewellery and jewel encrusted court shoes to complete her style for the event which will see her honoured with the Global Impact Award, alongside Lenny Kravitz.

While accepting the Global Impact Award, she threw some shade at the Grammy Awards - or rather, her dry spell in regards to receiving one. "Is this a real Grammy? I haven’t seen one in soooooo long," she quipped. "It’s weird. I don’t know," Carey continued. "We’ll figure out what this is later."

Those honoured are recognised for their "inspirational legacy of service and celebrated for the myriad ways recipients' leadership and passion has empowered others to embrace authenticity and contribute to positive change."
Last year's winners included Missy Elliott, Dr. Dre, Lil Wayne, and Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone. The outing comes as Mariah has been settling in to single life after her split from boyfriend of seven years Bryan Tanaka at the end of 2023. At the time he issued a statement confirming their split on Instagram.
He wrote: "Our decision to embark on different paths is mutual, and as we navigate these separate journeys, we do so with profound respect and an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the invaluable time we've shared." He added that their memories and artistic collaborations will be "etched" in his heart forever
He also praised Mariah's dedication to her family and craft, expressing his love for her and her children. He said: "Mariah and her incredible children, whose warmth and kindness have enriched my life in ways words cannot capture."
He concluded his post by asking for privacy and respect, thanking fans for their support. He wrote: "The outpouring of love and support from fans has been a beacon of strength, and I am extremely grateful for the encouragement that continues to uplift me. I eagerly anticipate continuing my journey, knowing my passion for inspiration, dance, and the creative arts will resonate in the unfolding chapters."
