CHANNEL 5 bosses kept misogynist Andrew Tate on Big Brother for 'good TV' despite rape probe, a bombshell doc has claimed.

Documentary I Am Andrew Tate is set to allege producers knew about a criminal probe into the disgraced reality star when they threw him into the 2016 series.

Channel 5 execs told cops Tate was "good for tv", according to claims made in the Channel 4 programme being aired tonight at 9pm.

Bosses were told about a 2015 Hertfordshire Police probe when they put him in front of the camera, the doc alleges.

One of Tate's accusers will say: "The police said they were trying to get him out but were having some pushback from Big Brother because he was good TV.

"It seemed like nobody cared."

The police investigation was ultimately closed in 2019 and no charges were made.

Tate was eventually removed from the Big Brother house when concerning footage of the kick-boxer hitting a woman in her underwear with a belt surfaced.

The social media personality has always maintained the acts in the video were consensual.

A spokesperson from the company that produced Big Brother, Banijay, said: "Extensive background checks are made on all potential housemates, including criminal record checks and self-declaration of any criminal matters.

"Given that no charges had been made against Andrew Tate at the time, the criminal record checks available to us were clear."

The French film company stated Tate was booted off the show five days after they allege they were made aware of the investigation.

It comes as other disturbing claims are set to be revealed in the I Am Andrew Tate documentary.

A marketing executive, who has used the fake name Evie Smith, alleged the controversial influencer choked her until she passed out during sex and threatened to kill her.

She claimed to meet Tate in 2014 when she was 20, while he was working as a doorman at a nightclub.

The now 30-year-old reported what started off as a consensual intimate encounter took a dark turn.

Speaking to the documentary, she said: “I completely lost consciousness after he strangled me during sex.

“When I came to,  he was still having sex with me. I don’t know how long I was knocked out, but I completely lost consciousness.

"He must have known that I had gone limp. I was so confused when I woke up. I had forgotten who I was, who he was and where I was.

“I just laid there completely still. Terrified. I was worried he’d do it again, and I wouldn’t wake up the second time he did it.”

“Something just switched,” she alleged. “He had this manic look in his eyes, like a darkness.

Evie also claimed in the documentary: “He said he was going to kill me, he said that he owned me and that I belonged to him."

She added: "He was making me say that I loved him. He was pinning me up against the wall. I didn’t know what to do, I was too scared to speak.”

Tate, 37, has vehemently denied all allegations.

A spokesperson for Andrew and Tristan Tate said: “Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The brothers firmly deny engaging in any form of witness intimidation or conspiring against anyone. All intimate encounters the brothers have had with respective partners have always been consensual and they vehemently deny all allegations.

“They find the descriptions provided shocking and upsetting as they are not reflective of their actions or character."

It comes after Tate and his brother Tristan, 35, were arrested at their home in Romania in December 2022 for crimes of suspected human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

They are accused of recruiting women on social media platforms and getting them to travel to their villa on the outskirts of Bucharest.

Both men are alleged to have manipulated the women through love bombing before getting them to work for their business, and making them perform sexual acts on webcams.

The pair spent four months in Romanian prison before being released and put on house arrest pending investigation.

In August 2023 the brothers won an appeal to be released from house arrest and were placed under judicial control, similar to bail - they deny all allegations.

They have been formally charged and are awaiting a trial date.

The indictment says the pair, along with two other co-defendants, formed an organised criminal group in 2021 for human trafficking in Romania, the US and the UK.

Tate has been charged with rape and Tristan has been charged with instigating others to violence.

The brothers lost a bid to return to the UK in December last year to visit their sick mum after she suffered a heart attack.

Andrew Tate has sparked controversy on social media for years with repeated misogynistic opinions.

Tate has been banned from X, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook for his statements.

He caused outrage in September 2017 when he said depression was not a real disease.

Later that year he also claimed women should bear "some responsibility" for being victims of sexual assault, following the allegations made against disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

His infamous row with Greta Thunberg also made headlines after he shared a picture on X standing beside his Bugatti.

He captioned the arrogant post: "Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions," and tagged Greta.

Her witty response hailed international praise as she replied: "Yes, please do enlighten me. email me at smalld**kenergy@getalife.com".

Following news of Tate's arrest, rumours circulated online that police were helped in their efforts to track him down after spotting Romanian-branded pizza boxes in his social media posts.

Greta tweeted a few days later: "This is what happens when you don't recycle your pizza boxes".
