Former Doctor Who star Billie was previously married to DJ Chris Evans, who is 17 years her senior, and actor-turned-political activist Laurence Fox, 45, with whom she has two sons.
A source said that Billie and Johnny split last year, adding: “It’s obviously very sad that the couple have gone their separate ways.
From tongue scraping to saying no, here are 12 health trends to try in 2023“But the relationship ran its course and they decided they would be better off apart.
“Like many couples, lockdown was quite tough for them, so they have had time to really think about what they want their future to look like.
“They will always treasure the time they had together and have many happy memories.
“Now they are concentrating on co-parenting their daughter and their separate careers.”
‘Her career goes from strength to strength’
Pictures were released last week of award-winning Billie in her latest role — for the Netflix movie Scoop, out this spring.
Billie stars as Sam McAlister, the telly producer who secured Prince Andrew’s notorious Newsnight interview in 2019.
Meanwhile, Newcastle-born Johnny, who spent time in LA writing soundtracks for Netflix and TV shows, has been touring the UK with his band Tribes.
The source went on: “Johnny has thrown himself into music again, while Billie’s acting career goes from strength to strength.
“Everyone is being very mature about it and making the transition as smooth as possible.”
How to de-clutter if you have a beauty stash to last you a lifetimeIn the past, Billie has admitted having problematic relationships which have inspired her work, while Johnny has gushed about how “awesome” she is.
Billie’s 2019 movie Rare Beasts, which she wrote, directed and starred in, features an obnoxious male character who some suggested was based on her ex Fox.
In a 2021 interview, she denied that. But Billie, who also played a strung-out celebrity in comedy drama series I Hate Suzie, added: “I know about dysfunctional relationships. I know about what it costs to be a woman.
“So I can comfortably sit in all of those things and say, yes, all of those experiences have informed my work.
"But it’s not that I was her, and that that was him.” In 2016, she and Johnny met at the Boogaloo pub in Highgate, North London.

Opening up about the love affair, Johnny said in 2019: “It was a big romance. If you meet somebody like that it blows you over. This was who I wanted to be with. Every day she inspires me.
“I cannot stress enough how talented I think she is.
“I was a bit lost before but seeing what she can achieve in a day, the amount of meetings she takes and how she moves her life forward inspires me to work harder.
“She doesn’t wait and see if things happen, she goes out and gets them. That’s why she’s so successful. It’s awe-inspiring. She’s ambitious, we both are.”
Johnny featured a heavily pregnant Billie cradling her baby bump on the cover of his 2019 solo album, Next Episode Starts in 15 Seconds.
He told how his partner had improved his life “in so many ways”.

The singer said: “She challenged me. She kept asking me questions like, ‘What’s your five-year plan?
"Where are you headed musically?’ And telling me I had to be accountable for everything I did.
“I felt my head had been stuck in this way of just thinking ‘next job, next tour’ and I wanted to keep talking to her.
“Luckily she felt the same way about me. She’s made my life better in so many ways and I just feel I now know who I am, I know what I can do, I know where I want to be. And that’s with her.”
Raised in Swindon, Billie attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London and landed a spot on the ITV kids’ show Scratchy & Co.
At 14 she secured a record deal and went on tour. Billie then shot to fame aged 15 when she became the youngest artist to debut at No 1 in the UK singles chart with 1998 hit Because We Want To.
Her success, and the punishing schedule that came with it, led to a mental health battle and an eating disorder.
She once admitted collapsing after living on “just Diet Coke and Marlboro Lights” for days.
Billie dated Ritchie Neville, of boyband 5ive, then met Evans on his C4 show TFI Friday in 2000.

He wooed her with a £100,000 Ferrari, filled with roses, despite the fact she could not drive.
Just five months later they married in Las Vegas — Billie, then 18, and Evans, 35.
The couple tied the knot in a top-secret sunset ceremony at the Little Church of the West chapel — where Elvis Presley married Priscilla in 1967 — after chartering a private jet.
They were joined by a small group of friends, including TV presenter Danny Baker, 66, who was best man.
Billie and Chris eventually withdrew from the public eye to travel the world.
‘We spent a great deal of time drinking’
She recalled: “I felt I was living out my uni years or something — we spent a great deal of time travelling and drinking, meeting people I wouldn’t have had access to otherwise.”
They split amicably after three years.
She later said: “Loved that time. Learned so much. Really needed it, after the experiences I’d had, leading up to that point.
“And I felt like I’d actually found a real friend.
"I guess meeting someone who had experienced [fame] for 20 years, at that level, it was very nurturing.
"And also very drunken, which I needed.”

When Doctor Who was rebooted in 2005 she found huge success as the Time Lord’s companion Rose Tyler — first alongside Christopher Eccleston and then with David Tennant.
That led to a string of other roles, including the raunchy Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
Billie met Fox while they performed in the play, Treats, in 2006, and they married the next year.
After having two sons, Winston and Eugene, they split in 2016 with an acrimonious divorce.
She has been nominated for scores of awards, and in 2017 won an Olivier for best actress for her stage performance in Yerma.

BILLIE started dating 5ive singer Ritchie Neville in 1998 — a year after exploding on to the pop scene.
Speaking about their two-year relationship, she said: “It made you really reclusive. That’s the stuff I hated.”
