FOLLOWING EA Sports’ very public divorce from FIFA, the football federation claimed it was going to continue making games under the FIFA name.

EA Sports has since very successfully rebranded as EA Sports FC, but a FIFA game has never been seen.

FIFA has sold the license for a number of NFT and crypto projects, but we are yet to see a fully-fledged football game.

A reliable leaker who has a good track record of correctly predicting upcoming games has said that FIFA is now working with 2K Games.

2K Games is known for its sports games like NBA 2K24 and WWE 2K24.

Despite 2K’s huge library of sports games, it hasn’t produced a football game for a number of years.

EA Sports seems to be the unstoppable force when it comes to this genre, though Konami has done relatively well with eFootball.

EA Sports announced that it would continue making football games following the end of the FIFA partnership, and continued to release on its regular yearly schedule.

While FIFA said it will continue releasing games, a game has not been announced, and FIFA seemed keen to miss the 24 release.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said: “The new FIFA game – the FIFA 25, 26, 27 and so on – will always be the best egame for any girl or boy, we will have news on this very soon.”

However, this announcement was made almost a year ago and no news has been forthcoming.

FIFA reportedly asked EA Sports for $1billion (£800million) for the use of its name, and 2K is one of the few companies that can both afford this, and make sports games.
