INFAMOUS drug lord Pablo Escobar’s brother is set to appear in a spoof movie about Colombia’s cocaine cartels, The U.S. Sun can reveal.

The late criminal mastermind’s older sibling Roberto Escobar Gaviria, 77, has a cameo role in upcoming film Don’t F With Pablo.

Known by the nickname El Osito (Little Bear), Roberto served as the Medellin Cartel’s accountant and "chief of the hitmen" during its heyday in 1980s and early 1990s.

He filmed scenes for the new comedy adventure in his brother’s old stomping grounds of Medellin.

The film tells the fictional story of Pablo’s illegitimate Jewish son, who leaves his job as a Walmart worker in Miami to connect with his Colombian heritage.

Writer and lead star Ian Halperin told The U.S. Sun: “Roberto is astonishing in this film.

“He is a little older now, but his spirits were very good and positive.

“He's a natural and really enjoyed and loved performing in front of the camera.

“He seemed a nice guy.

“A lot of these cartel guys regret that what they did in the past was sinful because so many innocent people died.

“Many regret it, that is why they cut deals and plea bargains.

“So they're out of jail, a lot of them, and rethinking their lives.

“In hindsight, I don't think he is totally happy with what he and his family did.”

Dubbed El Patron (The Boss), Pablo Escobar became one of the wealthiest criminals in history after his organization monopolized the cocaine trade into the U.S.

By the time of his death aged 44 in a shootout with law enforcement in 1993, he had an estimated net worth of $30 billion.

DISGUISES AND FAKE ACCENTS

Medellin Cartel co-founder Roberto spent more than a decade in prison for his role in the drug trade.

He was left partially blinded and deaf by a letter bomb sent to him while in prison by an anti-Escobar paramilitary group.

In 2009 he released the memoir The Accountant's Story, a behind-the-scenes look at the madness of his life of crime.

Award-winning author and documentarian Halperin refused to go into details about how he landed Roberto for his film.

The Canadian joked: “You don’t go to KFC and ask for the recipe.

“All I’ll say is that it was a former cartel member who knew him that arranged it.

“To be clear, he appeared willingly.

“It was nothing like where Borat managed to get Rudy Giuliani with hidden cameras, we worked with him.

“He knew he was appearing.”

NY Times bestselling author Halperin has previously used disguises and fake accents for his investigative journalism work.

He felt it was time to use those skills to his acting in a project which he hopes will bring “more laugher into the world.”

Halperin believes the film will especially appeal to the viewing public following renewed interest in drug-smuggling stories such as Sofia Vergara’s Netflix series Griselda.

The show tells the story of Griselda Blanco, the Miami-based cocaine queen dubbed "The Black Widow".

He said: “With Griselda out now, the timing is just perfect to release this film.

“I showed it to people connected to the cartel who congratulated me on how it captured the culture, the language they used and the craziness of cartel life.

“Interestingly, the cartel guys  told me that the plot rings true because a lot of the bosses had kids all over the world.”

Asked if he was concerned about threats from current cartel bosses or old allies of Escobar, he replied: “It is satire and everyone will see that.

“Nobody is killing Alec Baldwin because he plays  Donald Trump on SNL.”

The film will be available on TGi123.com and VimeoOnDemand in early March.
