Norwich's Jonathan Rowe is being linked with a move to the Premier League

The second half of the January transfer window is now underway, with just over two weeks to go before the deadline on February 1.

It has already been a busy start to the month as EFL clubs across the country battle to conclude all-important deals to help bolster their squads for the remainder of the campaign.

Here are the latest transfer rumours from the Championship, League One and League Two alongside analysis of the top rumours from our EFL72 team.

Tottenham interested in Championship wonderkid

Spurs are keeping an eye on the progress of Norwich winger Jonathan Rowe, according to a report from Football.London. The 20-year-old has been a shining light for the Canaries this season scoring 12 times in 28 appearances.

It is unclear whether the winger would be available in this window or the summer, with a queue of clubs likely to be lining up for his services if a deal is there to be done.

EFL72 says:"Norwich sit just outside the play-offs at the moment and they can have Rowe to thank for a lot of their good fortune so far this season. He's already established himself as their key man at just 20 and received a well-deserved England U21 call-up. The Canaries won't want to lose him in January but they may be swayed by a substantial offer."

No deal close for Clarke

Sunderland's Jack Clarke remains a key target for several Premier League clubs in this window, including West Ham, but no deal is said to be close for the 23-year-old, according to the Standard.

The Hammers are keen on continuing their hunt for a forward this month but the club insists that they are ready to cope until the summer if no new signings arrive before the end of the window.

EFL72 says:"Clarke's Sunderland future will remain a key talking point between now and the final minutes of this transfer window. He's a key player in the Championship and deserves another shot in the top flight - it's just down to who can now realistically strike a deal with the Black Cats for his signature and that may have to wait until the summer."

Leeds face full-back competition

Leeds United will face continental competition for the signing of West Ham right-back Ben Johnson, with Spanish giants Villarreal and Real Betis also battling for his signature this month. Johnson has just six months left on his current deal with the Hammers with TeamTALK reporting that he is yet to sign a new contract.

Several other English clubs, such as Southampton and Sheffield United, are also said to be interested in a potential move for the full-back, who has struggled for consistent game time so far this season.

EFL72 says:"It's no secret that Leeds are after a full-back in this window, following a couple of defensive departures earlier this month. Johnson has a good amount of experience in the Premier League and may be willing to make the switch for regular game time at Elland Road - so this is one to keep an eye on as the clock ticks down."

Chelsea rule out bid for former EFL star

Chelsea have reportedly ruled out a move for former Coventry City star Viktor Gyokeres. Reports in Portugal claim that the now Sporting Lisbon forward had been subject to a £73m bid from the Blues but the club have since denied any interest.

Plymouth plot move for former Liverpool man

Championship side Plymouth Argyle are said to be interested in a move for former Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria, according to Football Insider. The midfielder has been a free agent since leaving League One side Reading by mutual consent earlier this month.

Warne tight-lipped on Derby deal

Derby County boss Paul Warne remained quiet on the potential transfer of Charlton Athletic forward Corey Blackett-Taylor following his side's win over Burton Albion on Monday night. Derbyshire Live report that the club remain keen on a deal for the forward, after it was reported that an initial £250,000 bid had been rejected.

Charlton in Cheltenham chase

Charlton are said to be among several League One clubs interested in a move for Cheltenham Town forward Will Goodwin, according to a report from Gloucestershire Live. The 21-year-old has scored six League One goals this term, including four in his last six appearances, having moved to the club from Stoke City in 2023.
