Nicolas Jackson let rip at team-mate Enzo Fernandez after the pair clashed during Chelsea's draw at Manchester City.

The Blues were denied late on at the Etihad and had to settle for a point despite leading 1-0 for large periods of the game. Raheem Sterling scored a first-half opener against his former club and Chelsea had more chances to make the game safe before Rodri's equaliser.

One of those opportunities fell to Jackson with the striker prepping to take an effort at goal, only for Fernandez to have the same intention. Both men went to shoot and ended up getting in each other's way as the chance went begging. Jackson made his frustration known as he lamented the Argentine.

The Chelsea forward fired a blank in Manchester, missing a guilt-edge chance in the first-half as his struggles in front of goal continued. Jackson has largely led the line for the Blues throughout the season but is yet to hit double figures in his debut campaign.

Blues skipper Conor Gallagher bemoaned the fact the visitors couldn't grab a second at the Etihad. He said: "We are slightly disappointed because we were winning the game. They were, in terms of possession, dominating the game but I feel we had a lot of chances to win the game.

"We are disappointed to concede late but pleased with the point. We countered them well so I think it is a fair result in the end. I think we had a chance or two to get the second and we didn't. But they had chances as well and it could have gone either way. We'll take the point."

He also added: "I feel that the lads were brilliant and defensively we were very focused. We were very tired but we saw it through and we are happy with the performance."

Chelsea were expected to return from Manchester empty handed after a poor run of recent results so can be encouraged by their point. It is the second time this season they've held the champions following an eight-goal thriller back at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino told Sky Sports: "Very good performance. Very pleased. I think that is the spirit that we want to show. We are working for that. I think they are the best team in the world and to show this performance, I think we need to be proud. We were very brave."
