A paedophile teacher who had sex with a 15-year-old schoolboy in a field has made a bizarre claim as part of her appeal.
Kandice Barber was jailed for six years and two months in 2021 after being found guilty of engaging a child in sexual activity. This week the Teaching Regulation Agency handed out a lifelong ban as they ruled the now 38-year-old preying on a young boy had demonstrated a “callous and selfish disregard for her pupil’s well-being” and “the public would rightly be appalled by her behaviour”.
Barber's behaviour came to light when a topless picture she had sent her victim was seen by so many people it ended up on the head’s desk. The supply teacher from Wendover, Buckinghamshire, even threatened her victim she would “take him down” if he told her bosses what had been going on. The trial judge blasted the mum of three as 'beyond despicable' for seducing the boy with topless photos and explicit messages while teaching him at Princes Risborough School.
The married mum-of-three who worked at a school in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, kissed him on the neck and whispered: "What do you want to do now?" She later picked him up in her 4x4 car and had sex with him in a secluded area. The predator continued to send him X-rated messages, including while teaching him in class, with one reading: "You cannot make me blush when I am teaching now, poker face." She later "threatened" to bring him down if he reported her and falsely accused him of rape.

Barber was jailed for six years in 2021 (PA)In a plea to the TRA, Barber claimed she wasn't a teacher at all and whinged about facing a misconduct hearing. She wrote: "I am not and never have been a teacher so this is a waste of time! Unfortunately due to the conviction and sentence I will be on the sex offenders reg indefinately [sic] therefore will never be able to work in education and nor would I want to! So what is the point?"

In another note riddled with spelling errors she added: "Despite the convictions I have always proclaimed my innocentse. [sic]". The TRA described Barber as "calculated" and said she had communicated with the pupil in "an inappropriate and sexually suggestive manner". Chair Susanne Staab said: "Her grooming and sexual exploitation of him was followed by threats and manipulation, demonstrating a callous and selfish disregard for her pupil’s well-being. The public would rightly be appalled by her behaviour."

He yesterday said her ban from teaching is "no more than she deserves". He told the MailOnline: “Her disqualification from teaching is exactly what any parent would expect to happen, no other outcome would have been tolerated.
"If she had continued her path in teaching as she started it I'm sure she would have gone on to have a very good career, but she did something unthinkable that devastated so many lives. Now you can only say she is no loss to the profession after what she did to that young boy, his family and the repercussions it has brought on her own family.”
