A FORMER airport security worker has revealed why you should never wear headphones while boarding a plane.
Caleb Harmon-Marshall, who worked at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, has provided advise to travellers on to how behave while passing through security.
The former guard, who was based at one of the world's busiest airports, said to Business Insider: "I would never wear headphones prior to going through security.
"You want to be very mindful of what's going on in your surroundings."
Caleb said that passengers had to be completely focused on what was being said to them by guards while passing through security.

He added: "The key is to listen to that first officer that you see past the ID check; they're going to tell you what to do."
And he pointed that after passing through TSSA passengers needed to be able to hear announcements.
And he offered the following advice to passengers when he said: "If you see a K-9, nine times out of 10, you'll probably be able to keep your shoes on, because they're doing risk-based screening at that moment.
"If you don't see a K-9, you're most likely going to have to take off your shoes, take your laptop out of your bag, all
those things that they tell you to do."
Many travellers dread airports particularly in the summer months when they can become congested.
