Millie, 19, made her debut as the Time Lord's sidekick, Ruby Sunday, in last year's Christmas special.

But since it has been revealed that she won't be back for another season.

Rather than addressing the news head on, Millie posted a sizzling holiday photo on her Instagram stories.

Showrunner Russell T Davies has already penned Millie's character, Ruby Sunday, out of future Doctor Who scripts.

An insider explained that she will only make a return appearance to "tie up loose ends".

"Millie Gibson has all but left now and there’s a brand new companion, which is really exciting," they told The Mirror.

"Russell is keeping things moving and isn’t letting the grass grow, that’s for sure."

According to the reports, Millie will only make a few appearances in Ncuti's second series as the Time Lord, airing in 2025.

Millie, will be replaced by Varada Sethu for Ncuti Gatwa's second run as the Doctor.

Taking to Instagram recently, Ncuti showed his support for Millie in the wake of the news.

He posted a photo of the actors on set and in character, and wrote over the top: "My lil [heart emoji]."
