Superstar NFL siblings Travis and Jason Kelce are well-known names in the world of the NFL and beyond but it turns out fans have been saying their surname wrong all this time.
The brothers, who have a close bond despite being rivals on the pitch, gained even more fame after their face-off in last year's Super Bowl. Their popularity has grown even more recently, thanks to Travis' relationship with pop star Taylor Swift catapulting his fame into the stratosphere.
Despite his high-profile romance, the Kansas City Chiefs ace always finds time for his older brother as they host their weekly 'New Heights' podcast. However it seems that many of their fans have been mispronouncing their surname, all along - much to the surprise to his own teammates.
Chris Jones, who stars alongside Travis for the Chiefs, was among those shocked to discover he'd been saying Travis' name wrong, as revealed in an Instagram video by 'Inside the NFL'. He exclaimed: "Y'all know it's not even Travis 'Kel-see'? It's Travis 'Kels'. F****** crazy, right?"

Eagle-eyed fans of the two-time Super Bowl champ will know there's a story behind the correct pronunciation of his name, however. Indeed, on an episode of the 'New Heights' podcast previously, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason asked his dad Ed about their family history.
Jason asked: "Why in the world did you change your name outta nowhere and now we are Kel-see?" His dad Ed replied: "I never changed my name outta nowhere," before Jason added: "Well, let's talk about it. Why did we think that our name was 'Kel-see' ... for the first 24, 25 years of our life? 25 for me, 27 for Trav'."
Ed then confessed: "I got tired of correcting people," which made Jason laugh, before he offered his old man some advice: "That's a good [reason] to stop.

"That's as good as I've heard, he added. "So you changed your entire family's name over generations because you were tired of correcting people?"
Travis has also shared his thoughts on the family debate over the correct pronunciation of their name in the past, addressing the debate three years ago. Speaking on Barstool Sports' 'Bussin' With The Boys' in 2021, he said; "I got 'Kel-see' and 'Kels'. My real name is 'Kels'. I just kinda roll with the punches."
Even Patrick Mahomes, a close friend and a long-term Chiefs teammate, was also surprised by this revelation after finding out. He even confessed on his social media that he had been pronouncing his mate's name incorrectly too, saying: "You learn something new everyday."
