New footage has surfaced showing the moment Phil Foden's mother Claire Rowlands was arrested in North Wales.

Rowlands, 44, had been out with friends when the alleged incident occurred. She was kicked out of a nightclub following an evening during which she had been drinking vodka and tequila, Llandudno Magistrates' Court heard.

According to The Sun, her arrest came after she was ejected from a club in the town of Towyn. She is alleged to have flicked a baseball cap off the head of a 42-year-old man, before later confronting police officers, and video from her confrontation with officers has been released by the CPS.

Bouncers at Bentley's nightclub had accused her of assault over the baseball cap incident. "I was just drunk," she told the court. "I was having a bit of fun. I had done it to a lad earlier. It was just a bit of fun, really."

Rowlands had admitted to drunk and disorderly behaviour, which led to a fine of £100 plus £85 in court costs and a £40 surcharge. However, she was found not guilty of assault.

"I was drunk," she told the court. "It was just a bit of fun, a bit of banter. I just could not believe it, that I could get into trouble for knocking someone's cap off. It's my party trick, knocking someone's cap off and putting it back on."

In a police interview, she said: "I kicked off with the police officers. I was a bit of a b****." I do not drink often but when I do, I make up for time. I am like an animal."

The individual whose cap Rowlands was accused of flicking did not attend the hearing at Llandudno Magistrates Court to give evidence. At the hearing, Duncan Campbell, the chairman of Llandudno Magistrates' Court mentioned this when addressing Rowlands.

"It is clear at the time that you were drunk, fooling around having fun," Campbell said. "It is for the prosecution to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt and that you intended to use force.

"It is telling that Mr Shortman has not attended and that your actions were not consensual. Therefore we find you not guilty."

Rowlands' son Foden, 23, has spent his entire professional football career on the books of Manchester City. He was part of the England Under-17 squad which won their age-group World Cup in 2017, and was also part of Gareth Southgate's senior England squad for their run to the final of Euro 2020 and the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup.
