Her part of the show used to be called the Jeremy Vine Extra but was renamed to Storm Huntley from May 15 2023.
During the Scottish presenter's segment, things started to get heated when Jemma and Esther discussed deterrents that can be used to prevent people from carrying knives.
Amanda Owen insists there's 'no stress' as she opens up about 'separation'Jemma said: “I don’t excuse people who have knives. It's a terrible, stupid thing to do, but also, I don’t live within an environment where you feel like that's your only option or you're going to get stabbed. That is the problem.”
As Esther tried to add her opinion and began saying: “Maybe that’s the problem”, Jemma rudely interrupted her before she could even finish her sentence.
When the broadcaster was finally able to get her sentence out, she explained: “Maybe because you don’t live on the fringes of society where you’re scared that your brother, who looks like my brother, is going to get stabbed.”
Before Esther could finish her sentence again, which was “You don’t live in communities that are struggling”, Jemma fiercely interrupted while defensively shouting and wagging her finger.
She replied: “You don’t know where I live! My kids are teenagers, and actually, you don’t know what's happening in my area, and there have been things.
“I have a 17-year-old son, and when he goes out at night, I don’t sleep very well, ok. So please don’t put your judgment on me.”
Esther then calmly asked: “So why are you against punishing people that carry around knives?”
Jemma seemed stunned about the question and started stuttering while Esther stood firm on getting answers to her questions.
The podcaster then shrieked, “Stop shouting so aggressively”, while Esther looked on calmly.
After witnessing the light altercation, fans took to X(Twitter) and expressed their disdain at Jemma’s comments towards Esther, with some even agreeing that Esther had a valid point in wanting to punish people who carry around knives.
