It's time for the last dance

FOOTBALL fans are gearing up for 'The Last Dance' as Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr face Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in Saudi.

Ronaldo, 38, has shown no signs of slowing down since joining Al Nassr as the Portuguese phenomenon ended 2023 as the world's top goal scorer with 54 strikes.

However, there are fears that Ronaldo could miss this match after being forced to pull out of his side's China tour due to an injury.

Meanwhile, Messi, 36, had an amazing start to life in the MLS as the World Cup winner scored a stoppage-time winning free-kick on his debut before bagging ten in seven appearances.

But similar to Ronaldo, the Argentinian magician isn't having the best time of late as his side recently suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of FC Dallas and Al Hilal.

What happened when Al Nassr postponed their tour of China?

Al-Nassr pulled the plug on their tour of China after Cristiano Ronaldo picked up an injury.

And a video of angry football supporters storming the team's hotel surfaced shortly after.

Ronaldo then issued an apology expressing his disappointment of not being able to play the match.

The goal machine said: "As you know, in football some things you cannot control. I have played 22 years in football and I am a player that doesn’t have too many injuries.

“So I’m really sad because Al Nassr and myself have come to China to enjoy the tour. I have been coming to China since 2003/2004, so I feel at home here – my second home.

“I felt that I am always special here. I feel sad. I know you are sad too, especially the people who love Cristiano, but we have to see this in a good way."

Ronaldo added: “We are sad because we knew this could happen. We will be back to make the Chinese people happy, this is my goal."
