Prince Harry is facing a court showdown over his US visa application after bombshell drug-taking revelations in his book.

The Duke of Sussex opened up about narcotics use in the past - and now the revelations in his book Spare may have landed him in hot water. The Duke of Sussex's name is now at the centre of a court battle this week over 'attempts to keep his immigration records secret.'

Harry has considered becoming an American citizen, but those plans could be in jeopardy if a judge rules against him after Friday's case in Washington.

A US think-tank group is petitioning for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to release Harry's immigration records to find out whether he admitted to his drug use when he entered the US in 2020. Upon entering the States, visitors are required to tick a simple yes or no box about whether they are taking drugs.

Heritage Foundation lawyer Samuel Dewey told the Daily Mail: "This could be very serious for Prince Harry. If he didn't tick the yes box when he entered the States then his visa will be reviewed and it is possible it could be revoked."

In his book Spare, released last year, Harry admitted to taking marijuana, cocaine and magic mushrooms. Mr Dewey said: "It could well be that he ticked the 'yes' box, in which case he would need a waiver to be granted a visa. We are simply asking who granted that waiver."

The DHS plans to argue that releasing that information will be an invasion of the Duke's privacy. Judge Carl J. Nicholls is expected to release a decision in weeks.

It has been a tough few weeks for Harry and his family. After learning his father King Charles had cancer, the father-of-two was pictured as he touched down in London following a flight from from California where he now lives with his wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

It comes as Harry hopes to put the rift between his brother Prince William behind him and be a support to William as he takes on more responsibility while King Charles undergoes treatment.

On Monday, February 5, Charles told the world he had been diagnosed with cancer. In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, it said after undergoing tests that "a form of cancer" was found. His Majesty did not specify which type of cancer it is.

The statement read: "During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer." With the news that the King is currently being treated for a form of cancer, his forthcoming public engagements will have to be rearranged or postponed."

Harry has since been in Canada for the One Year To Go celebrations for the Invictus Games. Sources say he would be ready to return to the UK if called upon to support the family through their health woes.
