A cop who was a former celebrity blogger has been charged with murdering missing Australian TV star Jesse Baird and his boyfriend.

A search was launched for Channel Ten star Jesse and his partner Luke Davies when blood and a bullet casing were found at their home. Now Jesse's ex boyfriend and serving police officer Beaumont Lamarre-Condon has handed himself in to Bondi police station - after he became the target of the detectives' manhunt.

Lamarre-Condon joined the police force in 2019 - but was previously a celeb blogger who had met stars including Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus. The bodies of Jesse, aged 26, and Luke, 29 have still not been found and their cause of death not confirmed. Relatives have told how Lamarre-Condon break-up with Jesse was "bitter”.

Detectives believe the couple were killed on Monday inside Jesse Baird's house in Paddington, an inner Sydney suburb. Before their bodies were then moved in a white van. New South Wales Police said a bullet matching Beaumont Lamarre-Condon's work-issued gun was found at the crime scene and he did not turn up to work on Tuesday.

Police have also seized blood-stained clothes, a phone and credit cards from an industrial bin in Cronulla, 28km (17 miles) away from the crime scene, and a number of items from a house in Balmain. It was first reported on Thursday that police were looking into a theory that Baird was being stalked by an ex after he vanished with his partner.

The news has sent shockwaves through Australia after bloody clothes belonging to the TV host and his boyfriend Davies were found in a skip. Det Supt Daniel Doherty revealed that police had been hunting a white van and that the vehicle was finally located on Friday morning. He also confirmed that it will be claimed in court the van was used to “transport the bodies and dispose of the bodies”.

Lamarre appeared before a court and didn’t apply for bail. His case has been adjourned until April 23 with police citing a need to have time to prepare evidence. Outside court, Lamarre’s lawyer didn’t answer questions.

The New South Wales homicide squad confirmed Lamarre had been part of a specialist team within the force, according to The Guardian. Lamarre-Condon was named a person of interest in the case after the investigators learned that he once dated Baird.

Baird had been a presenter and red carpet reporter on Network 10's morning show Studio 10 until the programme was axed in December, 2023. His boyfriend Mr Davies was a flight attendant for Qantas. There are several photos of the happy couple on their respective social medias which has been flooded with messages of condolences since their disappearance

Former colleagues have expressed their shock over Baird's disappearance. Stacey Thompson worked with Baird on children's show Totally Wild, and she told DailyMail: "I'm shocked actually. I worked with Jesse for a few years and we sat across from one another in the TW office"

She added: "He was a lovely work friend, always professional and keen to learn. I prefer not to comment further at this time, until more details come to light." Mirror Online has contacted NSW Police for further comment.
