A LUCKY couple who won a whopping £2million National Lottery jackpot fears the fortune could disappear at any moment.

Marie Kibler and husband Paul, from Birmingham, admitted they still shop at Poundland to save their precious pennies.

Although they are now a whole lot richer the pair say they "can't go out and be totally reckless."

Paul, 59, even continued running his gardening business four years after they scooped the huge prize in 2012.

And they've made sure every penny has counted, spending the fortune on things that will benefit others.

Marie said: "The proudest thing I have done with the money is to buy my grandson’s school a defibrillator."

Paul added: "It is a special school and we were over the moon to give them that."

The pair are keen volunteers in their free time and have raised a lot of funds for various charities.

They helped gather an impressive donation for Cancer Research after their daughter was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Paul also volunteers to look after the Lichfield War Memorial.

It comes as one lucky winner who scooped a £1million jackpot wouldn't have bagged a penny if he hadn't called his ex-wife.

Steve Glover couldn't believe his eyes when he checked his lotto results and nearly left the huge windfall unclaimed.

The ex-cabbie, from Exeter, tried his chances in March 2023 after yobs had destroyed his caravan and squashed plans to retire in the Scottish Highlands.

And another jackpot scooper has hit back after being accused of pocketing a £1million jackpot after splitting from her boyfriend.
