GEORGE Clarke is a familiar face on TV, thanks to Channel 4 shows like Amazing Spaces.

The TV star has enjoyed an incredible career so far, which saw him kick off his working life as an architect.

Who is George Clarke?

Born in May 1974 in Sunderland, George Clarke, trained as architect after leaving school.

He formed the company clarke:desai with Bobby Desai whose impressive clientele included chef Jamie Oliver and showbiz supremo Simon Fuller.

George is also a TV host who specialises in property and interior design programmes.

Speaking about his TV career, he told The Big Issue: “When I started in television, someone said we’re offering you the job because you’re really passionate about architecture and design.

“I don’t present anything else. I present programmes about architecture and design and property and houses – and, you know, tree houses, caravans, camper vans, quirky business spaces. But it’s still design.

"So I still don’t see myself as a performer.

"When I get paid to wax lyrical about what I am passionate about, it is a privilege.

"If people watch and enjoy it, are educated or entertained, then I’m the happiest man in the world

.

As well as his TV career, George is an author having written several books including Amazing Spaces and Build A New Life.

He also wrote the Home Bible series including Kitchen And Dining Areas, Bathrooms, and Living Rooms.

Since 2004, George has been a regular feature on TV.

Some of his best-known shows including Dream Home Abroad, The Great British Property Scandal, George Clarke's Amazing Spaces and Old House New Home.

The first TV show he presented was Property Dreams in 2004 before moving on to other series including Build A New Life In The Country, The Restoration Man and Ugly House To Lovely House.

George started hosting Amazing Spaces back in 2012.

The popular star is also known for his Channel 4 show, George Clarke’s Remarkable Restorations.

Is George Clarke married?

George isn't married but is in a relationship with Florence Hvorostovsky.

The TV star has been wed twice, and married his first wife Catriona Drummond. in 2009.

Together the former couple have three children - Georgie, Emilio and Iona.

They went onto divorce in 2013.

After his marriage to Catriona broke down, George married Katie Morgan Jones in 2018.

This marriage came to an end in 2022.

Their split followed cryptic Instagram posts by PR executive Katie who previously wrote of having been “through the most bizarre and traumatic situation”.

She mentioned “lockdowns isolated on my own” that were a “test of mental agility”, as well as “many, many other trials and tribulations, tears and ­revelations”.
