Viewers left 'speechless' over 'must-watch' Netflix show with 'juicy' ending

Netflix is king when it comes to complex, moving, and fascinating true crime documentaries, with its most recent offerings - Lover, Stalker, Killer and Can I Tell You A Secret - earning stellar reviews and high scores on sites such as IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.

Now its latest release has left viewers on the edge of their seats as it attempts to unravel the complex story allegedly behind one of America’s most suspicious crimes. American Conspiracy: The Octopus Murders, released earlier this week, centres on Danny Casolaro, a dad and an investigative reporter who started digging into Inslaw, a Washington-based technology company known for developing PROMIS, an early case management software system.

As Casolaro began investigating the tech, more and more information began to unravel including a political conspiracy known as the Octopus. Not long into his research, he is found dead in his hotel room, his wrists slashed. But was it murder or suicide?

As photojournalist Christian Hansen and director Zachary Treitz dig deeper and deeper into his research and findings it appears to cast a shadow of plausibility on what the U.S. government might be truly capable of.

Watching the four-part series people have been left gripped by the documentary, with many calling it “must-watch” television. Sharing their thoughts on X, formerly Twitter, one person commented: “As a seasoned documentary watcher, no documentary has grabbed my attention like The Octopus Murders within the first 2 minutes.”

Someone else gushed: “Anyone else watching the new Netflix series American Conspiracy: The Octopus Murders? All I have to say is HOLY SH*T! This is a must-watch. I’m a few episodes in but so far it unmasks a level of corruption in our government that is beyond your imagination.” Another shared they were watching and it was “so juicy!”, while another viewer added: “This was a wild ride. I’m speechless.”
