The petrol head says Japanese-made Honda, Toyota, Mazda and Subaru's should be the top of any car flipper's list.

Sharing his top tips on TikTok, he explained: "The reason that I sell so many of those cars and buy so many of them is cause frankly, I don't have to spend much money on them.

"I do not mind if they have a lot of miles."

He said he's got a 2012 Honda Civic with 257,000 miles on the clock.

But despite the monstrous mileage, he has no doubt it could still take him "coast to coast" and would be snapped up by the next person.

He also offered some personal thoughts on the car makes.

If you're after reliability, Kenny reckoned motorists should snap up a Honda which runs and drives "perfect".

And he warned that while Subaru made his top four, they do have higher maintenance costs.

The costs come when you want to buy new head gaskets, timing belts, and water pumps.

Despite the expense, Kenny stressed Subarus will last once you complete work as necessary.

He took his son's Forester as an example, saying it's racked up 260,000 miles and still going.

As for Toyota's, he said some do have issues with engines.

He claimed these include issues with the valve seal, oil-burning problems, and transmission hiccups on models like the Matrix.

Despite this, he still recommends the brand.

And while Mazdas have some "issues" with transmission control modules, the problem is a reasonably cheap fix.

If you’re looking for a more luxurious used vehicle, Kenny recommends Toyota’s subsidiary, Lexus.
