Richard Hammond and his daughter have come under fire after their recent TV appearance.

The father daughter duo appeared on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch to promote their new podcast but viewers accused them on "nepotism". The pair started their podcast Who We Are Now on February 27 and focuses on the two of them discussing men's mental health. It comes after the former Top Gear star's serious head injury he sustained during filming the BBC show.

Richard and his daughter Izzy spoke to hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer over the weekend about how they came up with the idea for the podcast. But it didn't take long for viewers to point out that Izzy is the daughter of somebody who is already in the limelight.

One commented: "No one in the world wants to hear a pointless podcast by Richard Hammond and his daughter #SundayBrunch." As a second wrote: "Oh god another sodding NEPO! Celebrities please keep your kids to yourselves. Feel sorry for all the non celebrity offspring trying to get a break in TV and film. #SundayBrunch." "Yet more nepotism at work. Roman Kemp, Tilly Ramsay, Barney Walsh, Izzy Hammond. Just need Alison Hammond's son in order to get Nepotism FC 5 a side #sundaybrunch," a third added.

Richard and Izzy announced the launch of their podcast on Instagram. They wrote: "We are SO excited to share our brand-new podcast Who We Are Now! Having suffered a rather dramatic brain injury in 2006, Rich spent a lot of time putting his brain back together. This got us thinking. While Rich has been very open about what’s going on upstairs in his brain, lots of us are not. Enter Rich & Iz….

"Our podcast is all about men’s mental health. Let’s face it, although the younger lot are getting better at talking about their heads, the older lot are a bit behind the curve. So, we thought Rich could be the guinea pig. If he can talk about it, so can you. Iz is the voice of reason. If it all gets a bit middle-aged man moaning, she’ll (attempt to) get us back on track."

However, the post was met with another negative comment regarding nepotism. It said: "Is that his daughter? Another nepo baby riding on her dad’s (and her dad’s friends) fame. Please, spare us…" But they were also inundated with positive comments, with many excited to listen to the pair. One said: "Absolutely love this!! You’re both amazing," as another wrote: "This sounds amazing! I'll be giving it a listen."

The two of them are due to be joined by special guest each week including the likes of Alex George, Mark Blundell and Dr Jim Álvarez. Richard will also be reunited with his Top Gear co-star James May in an episode.
