Arsenal star Frida Maanum is "doing well" after she collapsed during the Gunner's 1-0 League Cup final victory over Chelsea on Sunday.
It was worrying scenes at Molineux Stadium as play was halted in injury time after the Norway international went down off the ball. Maanum was treated by emergency medical staff on the pitch and received oxygen through a mask as both teams returned to their respective benches.
Maanum was eventually carried off the pitch and down the tunnel on a stretcher. Arsenal confirmed that the 24-year-old did not lose consciousness and was "stable" as the game carried on into extra-time.
And Arsenal have since confirmed that Maanum travelled back home with the team after their win and did not require hospital treatment.
The club are carrying out tests to discover the source of the issue.
Premier League odds and betting tipsCompatriot Stina Blackstenius supplied the game winner for Arsenal in the 116th-minute, a sight which England star Alessia Russo claimed was "written in the stars" as Jonas Eidevall's side lifted the League Cup trophy for a successive season. Eidevall said his team wanted to make Maanum "a champion" following her collapse.
The Gunners described the moment as "very scary", adding: "Immediately after the game, we don't care about winning, we care about Frida - that is most important.
"But there was nothing we could do to control that situation, we can concentrate on football, and we wanted to make Frida a champion."
