King Charles has been pictured being driven into Clarence House today as his cancer treatment continues.

Charles, 75, was also snapped shaking hands with Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, today ahead of Budget Day on Wednesday. Charles met Mr Hunt in a private room in Buckingham Palace before making his way to Clarence House on The Mall in the City of Westminster, London.

Although the monarch is not carrying out public duties while he has treatment for the cancer, he seemed to be in a positive mood today. It is thought he is continuing with behind-the-scenes work on state papers.

Other members of the royal family, including Camilla, Queen Consort, have stepped up to undertake extra duties. Princess of Wales, for instance, has today announced a new royal event is in her diary. Kate, who herself had abdominal surgery in January, will take part in the King’s birthday parade with the dress rehearsal, ahead of the main event on June 15

Charles was treated in the same hospital as the Princess of Wales. He was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer following hospital treatment for an enlarged prostate, which was unrelated.

Princess of Wales, 42, who was discharged from The London Clinic in Marylebone, Central London on January 29, was spotted yesterday for the first time since her surgery, being driven around Windsor close to her home with her mother, Carole Middleton.

Kate's diary entry released today is her first engagement listed this year, although she is targeting a return to royal duties after Easter. Although His Majesty The King's actual birthday is November 14, the spectacular ceremony of Trooping the Colour in June remains the single national celebration of the Sovereign's Official Birthday.

Also in Charles' absence, Camilla, 76, met Ukraine's first lady Olena Zelenska at Clarence House on Thursday. Ms Zelenska posted a video on social media showing Camilla greeting her warmly with a kiss on both cheeks and saying: "Hello. How very nice to see you."

She wrote that she was "delighted to personally express my gratitude to Her Majesty Queen Camilla, and in her person the whole @RoyalFamily and all people of the UK for supporting ( Ukraine ) and our IDPs (internally displaced persons). Our values are common - life, freedom, democracy. Thank you for standing up for them together today."

Camilla has completed 13 official engagements solo since her husband's condition came to light, including leading the Royal Family at a memorial service for the King's close pal, the late King Constantine of Greece. The 76-year-old was the most senior royal at the service, which was attended by a large number of Constantine’s family and foreign royalty last month.

But now Queen Consort is now on a break to recharge her batteries. It is believed she jetted off on a private flight for sunny climes on Friday. Speaking to The Sun, royal expert Ingrid Seward said: "Camilla has had the ultimate worry about her husband’s health. But she has also been the one who has had to step up to the busy schedule of royal engagements as well as wanting to be there for him and Kate whilst they each have their health issues. She certainly deserves some rest and relaxation."

Prince of Wales will continue royal duties in her and Charles' absence. William, 41, visited Western Marble Arch Synagogue in London on Friday to meet young people representing Jewish students and others helping to combat antisemitism.

He also spent a time with Holocaust survivor Renee Salt, 94, and held her hand after she recounted her fears about the rise in hatred and told her: "It must be horrible for all of you worrying about this and I'm sorry it's got to this...it will get better."
