Holiday parks in the UK offer everything you need for a break away with friends and family, and while no two venues are the same, the concept rarely changes.

Swimming pools offer watery fun for everyone and fishing lakes, arcade games, go-karts and live entertainment all add to the overall experience. What does differ though is the price.

Offering luxury lodges nestled away in pine-scented forests, prices for Center Parcs during school holidays can be expensive with families of four paying several hundreds of pounds for a stay at peak season. Alternatives such as Haven or Parkdean for example, could offer big savings with prices starting from as little as £10 per person, per night.

Center Parcs has five UK locations and another in Ireland. Whinfell Forest, Sherwood Forest, Elveden Forest, Woburn Forest and Longleat Forest are all in England.

All of the Center Parcs locations follow the same template; acres of woodland and forest areas, log cabin-style accommodation and shops, restaurants and bars on site.

All are known for the wide range of sports facilities such as watersports, archery and football, as well as spas and other relaxing activities.

Can you get a Center Parcs deal?

Center Parcs prices can be expensive, particularly during school holidays. Summer stays will also be more expensive but Center Parcs does have some advice for holidaymakers hoping to save some money.

Booking your return visit shortly after you leave could see you receive a £50 discount, according to the company. They also occasionally offer cut-price deals depending on availability, but traditionally they are not known for offering big discounts.

Another alternative is to head out of the UK. Center Parcs has locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany and they can often be cheaper than their UK counterparts even with travel included.

Center Parcs prices are some of the highest around but the parks do provide accommodation and activities that will keep the entire family entertained.
