GOOD Morning Britain was subject to a huge hosting shake-up after a fan-favourite was missing from the line-up.

Just weeks after the show anchor made her long-awaited return, she was absent from Thursday's ITV programme.

Kate Garraway, 56, who usually fronts Good Morning Britain every Thursday and Friday, was today replaced by Ranvir Singh, 46.

Ranvir was joined by Richard Madeley, 67, as the duo went through the finer details of Wednesday's Spring Budget.

Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves MP and Chancellor Jeremy Hunt - who announced the 2p reduction in National Insurance handing Brits an average £450 cash boost - were both on their interview list.

No explanation was given for Kate's absence - but fans are bound to be disappointed with the star's absence as she only recently returned to work following the death of her husband Derek Draper aged 56.

It's a double blow for Thursday GMB viewers after Ben Shephard, 49, fronted his final show last month.

Ben left his co-stars in tears during his final episode as he prepares to front This Morning with Cat Deeley, 47.

He has previously revealed leaving his show "wife" Kate was the "hardest decision".

Ben and former SMTV Live host Cat will be This Morning's latest partnership and ultimate replacements for Holly Willoughby, 43, and Phillip Schofield, 61.

Their appointment confirmed The Sun's exclusive in December.

His This Morning statement read: "This really feels like a very special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of This Morning.

"It’s an honour to be trusted with the reigns, join Alison and Dermot and all the team that work on and off screen and do such a great job.

"For the last ten years I’ve been waking up with our ITV daytime audience on GMB and I now look forward to spending time with Cat, welcoming the viewers home after the school run or from their early morning routines, with a cup of tea and a mix of everything that makes This Morning so loved."

This weekend, we reported how show legend Adil Ray will fill Ben's former seat on Fridays for the next few weeks.

Susanna Reid holds the fort every Monday to Wednesday, with a rotation of co-presenters including Richard and ex Labour MP Ed Balls.
