That same year she scored her very first radio gig at Rock FM in Lancashire.

In 2006 she joined Galaxy - which has since become part of Capital FM - before moving to Radio 1Xtra in 2012.

In January 2021 she scored the Weekend Breakfast gig on Radio 1 after a shakeup in the station's schedule.

Adele announced that she would be taking a break from her radio work after being diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2021

She took to her Instagram account to share her story in the hopes that it would "reach anyone who might benefit from seeing it or reading it".

Revealing that she would be undergoing surgery, Adele praised the NHS and urged anyone with symptoms to head to their GP, explaining that she had been "embarrassed" to seek help after suffering digestion issues.

She added that she felt "lucky" that her cancer was still treatable and that "early detection can save your life".

In June 2022, Roberts revealed that she was cancer free.

Adele left Radio 1 after "an incredible eight years" in May 2023.

In January 2024 the star sadly revealed that her beloved mother had passed away.

After Adele revealed her bowel cancer diagnosis, Kate took to Instagram to show her support for her partner in an emotional post, describing Adele as her "hero".

The couple won the sixth series of Celebrity Coach Trip in 2020.
