When Kate's maternal uncle Gary Goldsmith entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, it couldn't have come at a worse time for the Royal Family - who are dealing with ever-increasing speculation online about the status of Kate's health as she recovers from an abdominal surgery that she underwent in January.

While Gary has, so far, only spoken of his niece in glowing terms and has refused to be drawn on the details of her health, despite being asked by one of his housemates - Love Island star, Ekin-Su - about her whereabouts, a body language expert has claimed that the 58-year-old businessman shows signs that he "loves the power that knowing secrets gives him" and is "milking it".

Body language expert - Judi James - told The Sun that during his conversation with Ekin-Su, Gary exhibited subtle signals that in her opinion made it clear that he enjoyed the power he gains socially from knowing the details of Kate's private life.

When asked about Kate's whereabouts, Gary replied: "Because she doesn't want to talk about... The last thing I'm going to do is... there's a kind of code of etiquette. If it's announced, I'll give you an opinion. I spoke to her mum, my sister, she's getting the best care in the world.

"And all the family's done is put the wagons round and look after family first before anything else."

However, the body language expert said that during the conversation Gary used a lot of filler words as a stalling tactic and "he raised his eyebrows up and used eye contact - what that told me was that he was loving it [...] He loves the power that knowing secrets gives him, even if he turns around and says 'I can't tell you.'"

The expert also noted that Goldsmith's only draw in the house is his connection to the future Queen, so he is likely trading on that heavily, or "milking it". However, she noted that after he had finished speaking, "We got a heavy swallow, and that often can be when people get a bit of an adrenaline buzz, or you know something inside Gary's head might actually be saying, you know, mate, you shouldn't be spilling tea on your nearest and dearest".

Equally, she claimed that by shrugging at the end of speaking, it indicated that Kate's loved ones are not too worried about her health and it may not be that serious.

Goldsmith, the younger brother of Carole Middleton, has been a controversial choice for the ITV reboot of the Celebrity Big Brother House after he pleaded guilty to assault by beating against his wife in 2017 and was fined £5000.

Refuge and Women's Aid have both criticised his appearance on the show, with Refuge also noting that "Big Brother is a show that first introduced Andrew Tate to the world, and it is now amplifying the voice of convicted abuser Gary Goldsmith. The producers need to take a long hard look at themselves, take this issue seriously, and recognise the responsibilities they have."
