Chelsea ace Enzo Fernandez was spotted calling ex-team-mate Mason Mount a "coward" during Thursday night's thrilling 4-3 win over Manchester United.

The Blues ended up stealing all three points in the most dramatic fashion against the Red Devils. Having gone two-nil up, Chelsea surrendered their lead and actually found themselves 3-2 down in the 96th minute. However, two late goals from Cole Palmer that sealed his hat-trick also handed Mauricio Pochettino's men the victory.

The game marked Mount's first return to Stamford Bridge since he left Chelsea to join fellow big-six outfit United and he was welcomed back with a hostile reception. While being brought on in the 86th minute, Mount was the subject of loud jeers from supporters who once adored him.

One particularly furious Chelsea fan was even seen holding up a No. 19 shirt - Mount's old number for the Blues - with the word 'Judas' written across the back. The England international came on at a time when United were leading, but by full-time Mount and his team-mates were left distraught at the defeat.

To add literal insult to injury, Mount also had a bust-up with Blues midfelder Enzo Fernandez. The Argentina international aimed insults in the direction of his ex-Chelsea colleague.

As per ESPN Argentina, Fernandez screamed "This is Chelsea" at Mount, before dubbing him a "cagon", which translates as "coward" from Spanish to English. Mount could be seen muttering something back, but it is unclear what he replied with.

Emotions were running high after the game and Fernandez could barely contain his delight during his post-match media duties. "Incredible match, beautiful to win like this in the end, this is what the Premier League has to offer," the ex-Benfica ace explained.

‘I really enjoy playing here. We are very happy, this group deserves it, even more so in the end like this, it is incredible. We are having an irregular season and I think that we deserved the victory, because throughout the game we were better in several lines.

He then went on to shed light on how he is feeling as another difficult campaign in west London nears a conclusion. Fernandez conceded his start to life at Stamford Bridge was far from ideal.

"Personally, I’m fine. The first six months, with the move, the language, the family, I had a child in the middle, were not easy at all. It was difficult for us at first, but now much better, settling in with the family, my son was born well, my daughter is adjusting to the garden."
