What to know about feeder relationships and how they work

THERE are many different fetishes in the world of relationships and some may be more well known than others.

A fat fetish is one example of a sexual fetish and it can - but not always - lead to interest in a feeder relationship.

What is a feeder relationship?

Feeder relationships are relationships that fall under the fat fetishism category.

A fat fetish sees an individual derive sexual pleasure from their partner being overweight or obese.

Feeder relationships are unique as it is not just the size of the body that they find attractive but also the journey to obesity.

According to a report in the National Library of Medicine, feederism is a "fat fetish subculture" in which individuals "eroticise weight gain and feeding".

The paper goes on to explain that feeders become sexually aroused by feeding their partners and encouraging them to gain weight while feedees are individuals who claim to become turned on by eating, being fed, and the idea or act of gaining weight.

Most feedees are female whilst feeders tend to be males - though this is not always the case.

In 2018 a newly-engaged couple, Rosie and Jeff, appeared on This Morning to discuss their feeder relationship.

Rosie, from Australia, revealed how she had gained 12 stone since meeting Jeff, who she connected with on a specialist website.

The pair went on to share details of how their romance works, explaining how Rosie would eat bigger portions than Jeff during their meal times before their "sensual" feeding sessions at night.

In the interview Rosie also addressed concerns about her health, saying: "If anything was going to be detrimental to my health such as diabetes I would do something about that.

"I do all the regular things; we go hiking, swimming... just as long as you have a good balance of the feedism and the healthy lifestyle.

What is fat fetishism?

Fat fetishism is a type of physical or sexual attraction for people who are overweight or obese.

Typically, fat fetishism relationships are portrayed as a thin man and a larger woman but there are many cases of it being the other way around.

The fat fetish community is not necessarily about promoting obesity, but rather celebrates people of all sizes and body types.

One common thread that runs through the community is a belief in promoting body positivity and acceptance for people of all sizes.

There are a variety of fat fetishes out there, including feederism.

Another, for example, is a fetish for "squashing".

This is when an individual has a sexual attraction to the idea of being crushed by a fat person or people.

According to a survey by Bedbible, one in 14 men and one in a 100 women have a fat fetish.

What is the feeder after?

Feeders are interested in seeing their partner gain weight and become the size they want.

People may become feeders because giving food is how they express love or concern.

They may also enjoy being responsible for the change in their partner's body.

For some, it is the idea of their partner becoming bigger and not the actual act that is the turn on.
