Novak Djokovic celebrated his latest Australian Open triumph by singing karaoke with a former Aston Villa forward who shared the Euro 2000 Golden Boot.

The tennis superstar, 35, won a record-equalling 22nd Grand Slam title last month by beating Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. The Serb now has as many major titles as the great Rafael Nadal, 36, and two more than the retired Roger Federer, 41.

Djokovic returned to his native Serbia to enjoy a well-earned party and was joined by Savo Milosevic, who played for Villa between 1995 and 1998. Villa fans will remember his goals, as he found the net 29 times in the Premier League during his three-year spell.

Djokovic was filmed singing some local tunes in a restaurant in front of dozens of people. He was joined by his wife Jelena - as well as parents Srjdan and Dijana - in Belgrade for the party. They were expected to attend, but the same can't be said about Milosevic, 49.

The former Serbia international also grabbed hold of the microphone to serenade the newly-crowned Australian champion. Djokovic was later spotted speaking to fans and enjoying the limelight, as his dazzling career shows no signs of slowing down.

Djokovic, who won his first Grand Slam title nearly 16 years ago, remains one of the best tennis players on the planet. He has now won a record 10 Australian Open titles, seven Wimbledon titles, three US Open titles and two French Open titles.

While Djokovic is still at the top of his game, Milosevic hung up his boots 15 years ago. The ex-striker represented the likes of Partizan Belgrade, Real Zaragoza, Parma, Espanyol and Celta Vigo during his career - scoring more than 200 goals at club level.

Milosevic scored five goals to share the Golden Boot with Netherlands star Patrick Kluivert at Euro 2000 after helping Yugoslavia reach the quarter-finals. He later represented Serbia and Montenegro - as well as Serbia - following the breakup of Yugoslavia.

Djokovic claimed his most recent Australian Open triumph was "the biggest victory" of his life after missing the 2022 edition due to his Covid-19 vaccination status.

"Only the team and the family knows what we have been through in the last four or five weeks," said Djokovic after claiming the trophy. "I would say this is probably the biggest victory of my life, considering those circumstances."

Djokovic also had to overcome a hamstring injury. He added: "If I turn back the time two and a half weeks ago, I wasn't really liking my chance in this tournament with the way I felt with my leg. Then it was just a matter of survival of every single match, trying to take it to the next round.

"The good thing about the Grand Slam is you have a day between the matches, so it allowed me to have more time than normal to get myself in somewhat of a good state to play and eventually win."
