Celebrities have started arriving on the red carpet at the Oscars in Hollywood, looking amazing in some chic outfits.
The first to arrive were reality TV star Nikki Bella in a long, feathery gown, actress Laverne Cox in a black and gold dress, and TV host and reporter Zuri Hall wearing a sleeveless golden dress. Vanessa Hudgens was among the celebs arriving on the red carpet for the biggest night in the acting world.
The High School Musical actress officially announced she was going to be a first-time mum when she walked onto the red carpet with a visible baby bump. She future mum looked elegant in an all-black a gothic-inspired Vera Wang Couture gown and smiled at photographers while holding her baby bump.

Julianne Hough, who was Vanessa's co-star in Grease Live! also arrived bright and early, wearing an off-the shoulder top paired with large, white trousers.

American songwriter Dianne Warren arrived wearing a sparkly black top with a black blazer decorated with colourful details. The Kissing Booth actor Taylor Zakhar Perez wore a simple, light blue suit for the event.

Moreno, at 92, waved to photographers as she showed off her look.
Black was the colour of choice for many celebs including actress and author Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Fish, Sissy Spacek and Eva Longoria. But other celebs opted for more colourful looks, with Brittany Snow donning a bright yellow dress on the red carpet.

US singer-songwriter Billie Eilish on the red carpet (AFP via Getty Images)Singer and songwriter Billie Eilish chose a classic look with a checkered black and white skirt, a black blazer, black shoes and white socks. She completed her look with a bag paired with her skirt, and kept her hair loose. She also wore a red pin, which calls for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Eilish and her brother O'Connell, who are up for an original song award for Barbie tune What Was I Made For?, both lent their support to the Artists4Ceasefire campaign ahead of the Oscars. They previously won an Oscar in the same category for James Bond theme song No Time To Die.

American actors Ramy Youssef and Mark Ruffalo, who both starred in surreal comedy Poor Things, up for a best picture Oscar, US director Ava DuVernay and British actor Riz Ahmed were also among those arriving with a pin.
America Ferrera looked stunning in a pink dress on the red carpet. Jimmy Kimmel will host the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Emma Stone also wore an amazing outfit. She went for a Louis Vuitton soft pastel strapless look in mint with a wide peplum at the waist.

Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa also looked very elegant wearing a white shirt, paired with a black jacket, trousers, and shiny black shoes. In an interview with ITV, he praised Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig for their work in Barbie, saying they gave it all.
Barbie star Ryan Gosling hit the red carpet with his sister and they both looked elegant as they posed for pictures. Bradley Cooper was accompanied by his mum and they hugged next to the Oscars statue on the red carpet.

Danielle Brooks said she had the number 26 painted on her nails to signify being the 26th black woman nominated for best supporting actress at the Oscars. "Dreams truly do come true," she told E! on the red carpet. "I'm a girl from Simpsonville, Carolina, we started from the bottom, now we truly are here.
"Can you get into these nails? I have 26 on my nail because I am the 26th black woman to be nominated for best supporting actress so I had to at least honour that, whether I go home with an award or not, I will forever be the 26th black woman to be nominated for best supporting actress."

Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan, who famously took selfies with Hollywood stars at last year's ceremony, said he has a list of actors he wants to take pictures with.
"A lot is on my list," he said. "Martin Scorsese I love, Robert Downey Jr, Robert De Niro, Ryan Gosling, I have a whole list so I can't wait to meet them."

The US media personality and actress appeared on the red carpet of the 96th Academy Awards wearing a red Marchesa gown and towering platform heels in the same colour.
While walking on the carpet in front of photographers, Koshy, 27, slipped and and fell back onto her dress, causing the crowd to gasp. She brushed of the tumble with ease and appeared to laugh at herself as she was helped back to her feet by two people.

"I'm joining a legendary group of women like J.Law who fell on the carpet. I made a whole moment of it. I said 'wait a second, I'm not nominated, I'm not presenting, I gotta fall'." British comedian and presenter Dimoldenberg added: "Maybe you were trying to smell the carpet."

Kimmel told the audience that Barbie director Gerwig's achievement was "taking a doll no-one loved any more" and turning the Mattel toy into a "feminist icon".
"Many people felt (Greta) should be nominated for best director", he also said. Turning his attention to Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, he said: "If neither of you wins an Oscar tonight, I would like to say you won something much better, the genetic lottery."

Nolan's ambitious telling of the story of J Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist described as the father of the atomic bomb, is considered the front-runner to be named Best Picture.

He has faced strong competition from The Holdovers star Paul Giamatti, but has pulled ahead in the race in recent weeks with wins at the Baftas and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
It would be the first Oscar for the Cork-born Peaky Blinders star. Nolan has only been nominated for the best directing gong once before, for Dunkirk in 2018, but has also never won an Oscar. He is also in the running for the adapted screenplay trophy, for his work adapting the Oppenheimer biography American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin, and the film is nominated for a raft of technical awards.

He would be among those accepting the best picture gong on Sunday if Oppenheimer wins, as he is a producer on the film alongside his wife Emma Thomas.
Robert Downey Jr, who plays Lewis Strauss - head of the Atomic Energy Commission in the film, is thought to be unbeatable in the best supporting actor category, having won all major awards leading up to the ceremony.
US actress Da'Vine Joy Randolph is also considered to be a lock to win the Best Supporting Actress prize for her turn as a grieving cook in the boarding school drama The Holdovers, in which Giamatti plays a grumpy teacher.

Emma Stone described it as the "biggest joy" to be reunited with the Poor Things cast at the Oscars.
The US actress is nominated for best actress for her role as Bella Baxter, seven years after winning the gong for her starring role in La La Land. "It is truly just the biggest joy to get to be with everybody from this film, because every single person on this, it's so detailed and the world was so specific and crafted with a lot of love and care and so just to get to be with so many people from the film is like the best thing ever," Stone told E! on the red carpet.

Speaking about her character in the film, Stone added: "I just see her as someone filled with so much curiosity and joy and obviously this is a metaphor, it is not based on a true story and can't really happen but that idea if you're never small and fragile and you could explore the world freely, what would you be and who would you become if you were just freely able to lean into pleasure and too much food and too much experience or not enough, she gets to experience everything in a way that not many people ever do.
"So it was incredible to play," she said.
