DRIVERS have attempted to uncover a floating car optical illusion.

A Honda CR-V, one of the most popular cars in America, became the center of a brain teaser game, as drivers thought the car was floating in the air.

Honda used optical illusions to point out a new engine style for non-American cars.

In an advertisement, the CR-V looks like it is floating next to a person dressed in a two-piece suit.

The car, surrounded by an all-beige landscape, has dark shadows below the driver's side.

A glowing piece of sun-kissed sidewalk is untouched by the dark cast of light between the shadow and the bottom of the vehicle.

The bright spot makes it look like the SUV is floating in the air.

But the more-than-3,000 pound vehicle is not suspended in air.

"Let's do those things that can't be done," the advertisement says.

"Like less fuel in for more miles out."

The advertisement was for the diesel-fuel version of the CR-V, an engine style that didn't reach the US.

Diesel-combustion engines are known for producing higher mileage per gallon ratings while polluting more methane and smog.

ANSWER KEY:

The CR-V effortlessly drives away after a brief moment in front of the camera.

As the car drives, two wheel-shaped cutouts in the sidewalk reveal that the car did not cast a shadow.

Instead, it was a stain on the sidewalk in the exact length of the vehicle.
