Eurovision is set to host a real-life witch with a strong 'personal power,' according to Ireland's Bambie Thug.

A devout follower of witchcraft, the singer confessed: "My heritage is pagan and I practise witchcraft. I'm a goth bitch. I am the witch of Eurovision."

With careful thought given to their energy projection, they ensure it isn't negative to avoid any backlash. They claimed: "I spend a lot of time with my energy and thinking about the energy that I am putting out. I make sure it's nothing bad so nothing bad comes back to me. And I live very consciously and very present as much as I can."

Keen on debunking myths surrounding witches, Bambie clarified that people often misinterpret their true nature. They retorted: "People misunderstand that most people have an innate power that they haven't touched into. It's just a personal power. I'm not going out and drinking any blood or anything. I'm just practising good energy."

Attributing their selection for Eurovision to their practice as a witch, Bambie is scheduled to perform in Abba's homeland, Sweden, marking 50 years since their win at the contest. Their track, Doomsday Blue aims to clinch the first victory for Ireland since 1996 at the contest held next month, reports the Daily Star.

Bambie expressed: "The way I live my life has been very handy so far. I'm an independent artist and now I'm doing Eurovision." Bambie wowed thousands of fans at the London Eurovision Party on Sunday. Olly Alexander, the star of Years and Years, is all set to represent the United Kingdom in the competition this May.

The news was announced live on Strictly Come Dancing by Olly himself, confirming that he will be flying the flag for Britain. Olly teamed up with Danny L Harle to co-write the Eurovision song 'Dizzy'. Danny recently worked on Dua Lipa's comeback hit 'Houdini' alongside Tame Impala's Kevin Parker.

In a chat with the BBC, an excited Alexander revealed his long-standing desire to participate in Eurovision. "It's gonna be electronic, something you can dance to," he teased about his entry. He added: "I just can't wait to get out there and meet the fans and everyone else taking part. It's going to be the wildest experience of my life."

He also shared with the BBC that this marks the start of releasing music under his own name. He confessed that he had "wanted to do it for a while" and felt that "this was the right time to start releasing music under my name". Eurovision 2024 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 11 in Malmo, Sweden.
