A gun was pointed at him, he was hit in the face and forced into a Audi Q7.

The gang also sprayed a substance in the women’s faces on the seventh green at Brocket Hall, Herts.

Prosecutor Russell Pyne told St Albans crown court: “Mr Huang kicked the car door and was told he’d be killed with a knife.”

Mr Huang, in his 30s, was tied up and taken to a property in Surrey, then put in the cage.

Mr Pyne said he was asked how a ransom would be paid, adding: “They wanted $15million in Bitcoin. He said he had stock and shares but they could not be accessed straight away.

“He spoke to his wife and had conversations with three friends for loans.

“After several hours it seemed the kidnappers were getting angry.

“They started to hurt him — hitting his leg with some sort of object.”

The 30-hour ordeal ended suddenly when he was freed near Cobham, the court heard.

He knocked on a stranger’s door and gave the man £100 for an Uber to his home in North London.

Tianfu Guo, 35, denies conspiracy to kidnap, blackmail and possessing an imitation firearm in October.

Six suspects are believed to be in China.

The trial continues.
