Omid Scobie appeared to take aim at the Princess of Wales after a new picture of Kate caused a stir online and faced accusations it had been heavily edited.

The royal author, who has been described as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'mouthpiece', took to X to share his thoughts on the snap after it was released on Mother's Day. Omid suggested the Wales' need to hire a new communications team.

"Wonder what it would be like if they had a good comms team," he wrote. The new family photo featuring Kate and her three kidsis the first official image of the Princess of Wales since she underwent abdominal surgery in January.

A third fan insisted: "Omid, they need a good Photoshop department," while someone else said: "I know the Buckingham Palace comms team is having a good laugh."

Royal fans have taken to social media to point out several "errors" with the new picture of Princess Kate, including the positioning of Prince Louis' hands to mismatched lines and clothing patterns. Other "faults" include Kate's missing wedding band as well as Princess Charlotte's half-missing sleeve and blurred skirt.

Royal sources have said Kensington Palace would be under "increasing pressure" today to explain how the snap was produced. Speaking to The Mirror earlier, one source said: "The palace will be under increasing pressure today to explain the situation.

"On one hand it (Kensington Palace) has made a public statement about the 'madness of social media' and on the other, they have added to the issue by directly issuing what appears to be an edited image." The comments come after the Associated Press, Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Getty Images all separately issued a "kill notice" to media organisations around the globe, confirming they had each deleted the image from their individual libraries.

A notice from the Associated Press read: "At closer inspection it appears that the source has manipulated the image." The Royal Family has ignored Princess Kate's photo controversy so far.
