A Ryanair flight to Spain was allegedly forced into an emergency landing – because two allegedly opened a bottle of duty free booze onboard.

The plane was travelling from Manchester to Alicante in Spain, when the men are believed to have opened up a bottle of duty-free Disaronno. Nevertheless the pair were soon taken off the plane after it tried to make an emergency landing in Barcelona because the pair were breaking aircraft rules.

Once there, the pair were met by riot vans, with passengers outraged at the drastic actions taken by the flight crew. Outrageous footage reveals passengers onboard laughing as a stewardess appears to be informing security guards of the unfolding situation. Walking over to the pair's aisle on the plane, she points to the men, as the security guards follow suit. The men stand up sheepishly as the passengers yell out, "Whey" in mockery.

The men can be seen collecting their belongings as the stewardess watches over their shoulder. She props her hands on her hips in disgruntlement as one man attempts to find the overhead locker where his rucksack is. The other man makes a swift exit, having already walked off the plane with his carry-on luggage. His pal meanwhile, initially selects the wrong overhead locker and the stewardess can be seen quickly closing it again in frustration as she impatiently awaits them to exit the aircraft.

She appears to be answering another passenger's question as the embarrassed man continues to look for his belongings. He can then be seen pulling out a blue rucksack before being escorted off the plane by one of the security guards.

Another passenger can be seen filming the unravelling events as another can be heard saying: "A few too many drinks but they didn't really do anything." Another woman can be heard replying: "Give over. That's all they've done? Thousands of pounds just because they've opened a bottle of Disaronno?"

A further passenger can be heard commenting: "This is ridiculous. Flight to Alicante stopped in Barcelona because someone drank a bottle of Disaronno. Lovely. How many police cars are outside? Two in a riot van. Two lads have drunk a bottle of Disaronno."

The footage was posted to social media on Friday (April 5) by user Sonia, where it received over 21,700 likes and more than 1,230 comments from social media users left divided. One person wrote: "Always the Brits."

Another said: "You are not allowed to drink duty-free on the plane. Simple concept to grasp - don't disobey flight attendants. Complete idiots - I mean the people commenting in the video they did nothing wrong."

A third commented: "I will never fly with Ryanair ever again - staff's rude, uniform's scruffy. Never again." Another added: "I always drink the duty free on the plane, never had any issues." A fifth wrote: "Well done to the crew for putting safety first under difficult circumstances, especially as the weather [was] so bad today." Sonia wrote in the comments that the boys were "very well behaved
