Tom Brady's former teammate, Logan Ryan, has hung up his boots after 11 seasons in the NFL.

Ryan, 33, won two Super Bowls alongside Brady at the New England Patriots after being drafted back in 2013, but ended up haunting his former teammate when signing a three-year deal with the Tennessee Titans in 2017. The cornerback was known for his interceptions after recording five during his rookie season for the Patriots, and was on the receiving end of a Brady throw six years later.

Brady's final ever throw as a Patriot was intercepted by Ryan, who ran into the end zone for a Pick-6 and eliminated New England from the playoffs. The Titans led the Patriots 14-13 with seconds remaining during their Wildcard Round meeting in the 2019 postseason, and Brady's desperate throw was caught by his former teammate.

With Brady's contract set to expire at the end of that season, the legendary quarterback later confirmed that his 20th season in New England would be his last. Brady then signed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on March 20, 2020, and was later joined by Ryan who was there for his final season.

Brady was also mocked by Ryan at the time, as the cornerback asked him to sign the last ball he threw as a Patriot. Ryan kept hold of the ball and had marked it with the date and time of the game, before handing it to Brady. The quarterback posted a picture of the ball on social media, adding: "Come on man @RealLoganRyan."

Ryan had one final shot at winning the Super Bowl back in February, as he suited up for the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners lost in overtime against the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas, and Ryan has now decided to call time on his career.

A successful career saw Ryan win twice alongside Brady in New England, and then join the Titans, New York Giants, Buccaneers, and the Niners. "Thank you to all my family, friends, and teammates for the guidance and support," Ryan wrote when announcing his decision on Tuesday

"Thanks to the fans for watching! Won 2 Super Bowls and got out happy and healthy to be the best father for my children! Thanks again for 11 seasons! Cheers to what’s next."

Ryan only started three games for the Niners last season and made eight total appearances, including at the Super Bowl. He was signed on December 6, 2023, after starting safety Talanoa Hufanga suffered a season–ending ACL injury.

The safety/cornerback is now focused on the next chapter of his career, and is already being linked with a potential broadcasting role. The 33-year-old could potentially follow Brady into an analyst role, with the legendary quarterback set to start working for Fox Sports from the 2024 NFL season.
