A MUM has told how she accidentally came up with the perfect name for her baby boy - and it’s so unique she’s never met anyone else with it.
Lauren Prentice, from Surrey, was over the moon to welcome her son into the world last year.
She found the perfect name for her son. They have to spell out his name a lot for people. But the hardest part for the 34-year-old and her partner was figuring out what to call their bundle of joy.
Eventually they reached the perfect conclusion without realising it - and named him Tavi.
Lauren said: “We actually spent ages choosing a name, Tavi was on our list and the top choice of my partner, other options were Oslo and Aspen.
Stacey Solomon says her life a 'mess' as she makes New Year's resolution“We actually gave him a different name per day for a few days to try and decide which fitted.
“In the end none felt ‘right’ so when it came to registering him with a doctor, which we needed to do quite urgently, I just put Tavi on the form because it was simpler and I knew we’d never make a decision.
“After that the name just seemed to fit and we both love it now.
“The name itself is actually short for Octavius but his name is just Tavi, I wouldn’t expect a child to have to learn to spell Octavius.
“My partner found the name in a book, I’m not sure which one but it’s a fantasy book of some sort.”
With such a rare moniker, people sometimes get confused.
But once they understand properly, the reaction is always positive.
Lauren added: “We do have to spell it a lot and also explain it, we’re also asked where it’s from a lot and often people mishear and think his name is Tabby.
“When people do hear the name, they all seem to say it’s a lovely name and really like it, but I doubt they’d say if they didn’t like it.”
