Soap legend Todd Carty was barely recognisable as he sported a moustache at The Lowry Theatre In Manchester.
The actor, 60, looked worlds away from his best known characters PC Gabriel Kent in The Bill and Mark Fowler in EastEnders. The soap star was almost unrecognisable as he was spotted running errands before entering the theatre in Manchester.
Todd sported a thick moustache which was reminiscent of Hollywood actor Tom Selleck. The actor donned a casual outfit which consisted of a navy zip-up fleece, a matching navy NYC cap, and some dark denim blue jeans. Todd also wore a pair of glasses which also made him look worlds away from his iconic EastEnders days.
His most prominent role was that of Mark Fowler in EastEnders, a character he portrayed from 1990 to 2003. Over the course of 13 years on the show, he embarked on a pivotal storyline involving Mark's HIV diagnosis. In 2003, Todd bid farewell to his Walford persona, as Mark Fowler rode off on a motorbike.
However, Todd's journey in the entertainment industry began as Tucker Jenkins in Grange Hill - a role that garnered so much popularity that it led to his own spin-off series, Tucker's Luck, which aired from 1983 to 1985.
EastEnders shock as child is revealed to be pregnant in New Year’s Day episodeThe actor has also made appearances on shows like Heartbeat, Holby City, and Doctors. Following his EastEnders tenure, Todd ventured into the world of reality television.
His participation in Dancing on Ice in 2009 remains a standout moment, marked by an unforgettable stumble on the ice that left partner Susie Lipanova momentarily alone. Then, in 2014, he showcased his culinary skills on Celebrity MasterChef and took part in Celebrity 5 Go Caravanning.
Todd is no stranger to taking to the stage. He took on the iconic character of Captain Hook in Peter Pan at Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth from December 2019 to January 2020 - and is currently part of a run of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap in Manchester's Lowry Theatre. Todd is acting alongside Only Fools and Horses and fellow EastEnders star, Gwyneth Strong.
The world's longest-running play is based on a murder. A group of seven strangers find themselves snowed in at a remote countryside guesthouse. When a police sergeant arrives, the guests discover - to their horror - that a killer is in their midst.
Elsewhere, Todd's personal life is heavily intertwined with the acting industry. He has been married to actress and writer Dina Clarkin since 1990. The couple's romance dates back to their childhood, with Todd sharing with the Mirror in 2005: "Yes, it's a real love story. We were both child actors and our mums were friends. We got to know each other after Dina's mum started to chaperone me to auditions and I'd go over to their house for tea."
A few years later, Dina's family moved out of London and the pair didn't see each other for a decade. Speaking of the moment they were reunited Todd said: "I was at a family do when Dina walked in and I just thought, 'God, you're beautiful'. All of a sudden, she came back into my life as a stunning 19-year-old and I fell head over heels in love. It was wonderful.”
The couple now share two sons, James and Thomas.
