In a resurfaced interview following the death of OJ Simpson, comedian Sacha Baron Cohen attempted to coax a murder confession out of the former NFL star, but his efforts were in vain.

The late NFL star, who tragically died at the age of 76 on April 11, appeared on the season finale of Sacha's Showtime series Who Is America? back in 2018. For the segment, Sacha was in disguise as an Italian photographer named Gio Monaldo and sat down for a chat with OJ in Las Vegas when he introduced his girlfriend.

In an attempt to get her to recognise the famous star sitting opposite her, Sacha explained that OJ was a Buffalo Bill and an actor in the Naked Gun films. However, his girlfriend doesn't recognise OJ - who was acquitted in the deaths of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman in 1995 - until Sacha began to repeatedly act out stabbing motions with his hand.

"She knows that, oh Jesus," OJ responded as he shook his head and laughed.

After the girlfriend leaves the room Sacha compliments her before making a series of jokes about killing her in an attempt to get OJ to agree with him. "She's gorgeous, but sometimes I want to kill her," Sacha confessed, adding: "I want to send her on a private helicopter and throw her over the Grand Canyon - oopsie daisy! ".

In another hypothetical murder scenario, the late actor goes along with Sacha's character by saying his girlfriend might go bungee jumping with a cord that's too long. The interview ended with Sacha Baron Cohen asking OJ Simpson how he "got away with" murdering his ex-wife.

"Me and you, we got something in common," Cohen said, adding: "We both, how you say, 'ladykillers.'". To which Simpson responded: "No, I didn't kill nobody," While Cohen sarcastically replied: "Ah, I didn't either."

Simpson was not convicted of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman, but he did serve nine years in prison for armed robbery and kidnapping two sports memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in 2008.
