SOME Samsung users have been less than pleased with the lack of items that come with a new Galaxy device.

In a recent Reddit post, one Samsung Galaxy user expressed disappointment with the company's latest packaging.

"We were spoiled back then," the thread's title reads, as an attached photo displays all of the items Samsung Galaxies used to come with, but no longer do.

The image shows a Galaxy S10+, headphones, a charging wire with a charging plug, a plastic phone case, a SIM ejector tool, and some instructions.

While the Galaxy S10+ wasn't released that long ago (2019), today's latest Galaxy lineup doesn't feature nearly as many accessories.

For example, the Samsung Galaxy S24 comes with just a charging wire (not a plug) and instructions.

This change angered many Samsung users as the Reddit thread garnered over 500 upvotes and dozens of users agreed with the post's sentiment.

"I bet in a couple of years phone brands will stop including the cables also," one person remarked.

"They even stopped including replacement tips for the s pen, which is strange if they're still going to sell the s pen with devices," another person added.

"Yes, it is awful now. I cannot even find a genuine adapter," a third person echoed.

"Gone are the good old days," a fourth person chimed in.

"I remember my S10plus came in a box with Galaxy Buds and Tab A as gifts, no redemption required!" they continued.

WHY DID SAMSUNG REMOVE ITEMS?

In the past, Samsung has cited the environment as a reason for scaling back on the goods.

"Samsung believes that the gradual removal of charger plugs and earphones from our in-box device packaging can help address the growing e-waste problem," the company writes on its website.

It's also "trying to eliminate unnecessary waste of resources by prioritizing compatibility between product components," it added.

However, by removing certain items like headphones and power adapters, it's likely Samsung saves money all around.

The trend has been adopted by most popular smartphone manufacturers, including Apple.

SAMSUNG

Samsung is a major South Korean company made up of many businesses that operate globally.

It was founded by Lee Byung-Chul in 1938 as a trading company.

But over several decades, it branched into food processing, insurance, textiles, and retail.

It wasn't until the late 1960s when Samsung entered the electronics industry – for which it's best known today.

Today, Samsung's most important sources of income are its smartphones and computer chips.
