The odds are on for Roman to appear on the BBC One show this autumn when the new series gets underway.

Roman, 31, bid farewell to his job with Capital FM last month after an impressive 10 years with the radio station.

Jordan North has since taken over from him, having left Radio 1 for the Capital Breakfast gig.

Roman is currently keeping his cards close to his chest regarding his next move, but William Hill thinks he is heading straight for Strictly.

The bookmakers have given odds of 3/1 that he could sign up for this year's series. There is also chatter of him hosting Good Morning Britain.

Lee Phelps, a spokesman for William Hill, said: "Roman Kemp’s emotional farewell to Capital FM last month has left punters trying to identify his next career move, with an appearance on this year’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing a popular selection in the book.

“Kemp has been given a good chance at 3/1 to appear in the ballroom later this year, while he is 6/1 to take his presenting skills to television and host Good Morning Britain."

He added: “A period of radio silence however seems one of the likelier outcomes for Kemp in 2024, who is odds-on at 4/11 to not feature on radio again this year, but conversely is 2/1 to appear on a new radio station.”

Tearful Roman signed off from Capital Breakfast on March 28 and thanked fans for "saving his life".

The star- who has been open about his own depression and mental health battles - said his job held him together when he was facing challenges in his personal life.

In an emotional segment, Roman told Capital listeners: "I know that there is a lot of people listening right now, and I wanted to take the time to say thank you.

"I was more nervous about saying I was leaving than actually leaving this show.

"This show is run by so many people behind the scenes who try so hard to give you that bit of energy in the morning and to try and get you up and feeling good, but I think what I want to get across is just how much fun I've had on this station in the past ten years."

He added: "It has changed my life in so many ways and I have grown up in this place, and that's because of all of you listening.

"You have been able to be there for me through things that I never imagined would even happen.

I've had moments on this show where my whole life outside of work is completely down the pan. There were times where I didn't want to be here anymore. There have been moments where my life outside of this room has been the worst thing ever.

"I know a great life, but in my head that's how it felt. I knew that all I had in my life were these four hours in my day where I could come to work and in those four hours I knew that I was going to laugh and have fun and be surrounded by people that get me and those four hours and those people that I'm talking about include you - the listeners.

"You have no idea how much you have helped me."

After landing the gig, Jordan, 34, made his Capital Breakfast debut on Monday. It came after he was 'dropped' by Radio 1 in February.

Insiders say Jordan was "blindsided" by the announcement, which saw him leave his drive-time show after four years with immediate effect.
