PICKING out a name for your sprog is always hard work.
No one wants a name that everyone else has, but no one wants a name so wildly unusual that they are to blame for their children's teasing.
Some people play it safe and go for the more conventional monikers but, surprisingly, teachers don't appreciate this tactic.
Reporters at Good To Know explained that, despite the fact that research shows people are more trusting of familiar and easy-to-pronounce names, some educators are advising against the common options.
Back in October 2022 the massively popular boy's name Oliver was booted off the top spot after eight years.

In response to the news, a teacher on Goodto.com's Facebook account said: "PLEASE don't give your child a popular name!
"As a teacher when they hit school age it's a pain having six Olivers or Mias in one class."
She continued: "Even worse, if some have surnames that start with the same letter so instead of being able to mark their belongings with Oliver A or Oliver B etc, you have to write the full name."

"And if it's a double barrel name like Jones-Smith the teacher really should be able to sue for RSI!!"
Others were quick to agree with the feedback: "When I started school in the 50s there were five Lynda's, four Christines and five Susans."
