It turns out that Sony recently allowed gamers to set the PS5 start-up beep sound to silent.

This feature was added in late 2023, so many gamers still have no idea it exists.

The trick was shared on Reddit and received over 1,000 upvotes.

One user replied: "Great to be able to get rid of that beep for when the family is asleep."

Another said: "The sound never echoes louder than when you have just put your baby down to sleep."

One added: "Dude, that sound is a trigger for my old dog. When it beeps, she starts shaking.

"I have no idea why, it's just that frequency. So glad I can turn it off now."

And another replied: "That beep is a woken up girlfriend every single time."

HOW TO TURN OFF PS5 BEEP

First, go into your PS5 settings to make sure that the latest software update is installed.

Then go to Settings > System > Beep Sound.

You can adjust the beep sound volume by selecting Volume.

Or you can simply turn the noise off altogether by activating Mute Beep Sound.

That way you can launch your PS5 peacefully at night without waking up any partners, family members, or pets.
