Wetherspoons doorman 'won't work there' as video sparks internal investigation

A Wetherspoons bouncer has been sacked after a viral clip showed him in an altercation with a punter.

The 35-second video, filmed from a passing car, shows a man being held up by two women outside the Richard John Blackler pub in Liverpool. The doorman is seen in the face of the man, who sways from side to side while holding a glass bottle that he later drops.

It was caught on camera by a member of the public on Saturday night, reports the Liverpool Echo. JD Wetherspoon have now said that the bouncer will not work at the venue again, "pending an internal investigation". The incident is said to have occurred after a customer left the pub with a glass bottle after being told not to by a door supervisor.

The footage from the car shows the bouncer turning around towards the man, and knocking his phone to the ground before he appears to shove one of the women. The man picks up his phone and gestures at it as the bouncer goes back inside the pub, while one of the women is seen seeming to hold the man back. The clip then ends as the driver moves away.
