Extra-time and penalties were needed to settle the tie after Arsenal levelled the aggregate score at 1-1 thanks to Leandro Trossard's first-half strike.

And from the moment captain Martin Odegaard confidently struck Arsenal's first penalty of the shoot-out, it seemed it would be their night.

Wendell missed from the spot for Porto and with Arsenal netting every spot-kick, it was down to striker Galeno to keep his side in it.

But as soon as he placed the ball down Henry left his seat and headed for the exit door - as he knew he would miss.

The former Arsenal striker was right to feel the way he did as Galeno's effort was saved by David Raya, who sent the North Londoners through to the next round.

Henry explained his decision on CBS Sports, saying: "The way he put the ball down, it looked suspicious to me so I left."

Jamie Carragher chipped in saying: "That man knows ball!"

Henry continued: "At times, because I used to take them, when you look at the face of someone that can tell you a story.

"He didn't look composed, he didn't look like he was going to score. We have to rush to come here [pitchside], and I walk slowly, so I said let me go ahead."

Arsenal could now face a European giant in the next round of the competition, with the draw for the last eight set to take place on Friday.
